Faithfully Hanging Tough

Life is full of peaks and valleys.   This past week for me – definitely less peak and more valley.   No real surprise.   When on my current med cycle, peak-less days tend to follow.   Although feeling lousy, weak and weary, this slippage from previous weeks improvement won’t deter nor defeat me.  My peak-bound climb shall resume.  This path I trudge – I know quite well.

“If only there was a cure for what ails me,” said every Lymie on the planet.

Unquestionably, certain elements can be either friend or foe when I’m feeling miserable and weary.  The weather is key – currently and thankfully my friend.   The desert in the Fall is absolutely, positively, perfectly, pleasant (say that quickly three times).  Clean fresh arid weather is da bomb!   Admittedly, I miss the majestic foliage of the maple and oak trees back home in the Midwest.   But it is a little tough to beat 70 degree temperatures and crystal clear sunny skies in November.

Even though I may not feel up to being out and about, by opening up the windows and doors, a little of the outside comes to me.   Light breezes carry in a hint of lavender still proudly blooming, combined with the sounds of the waterfall and the birds chirping in the background are all incredibly soothing.   Nature offering pure medicinal blessings to help off-set the myriad of prescriptions and potions I choke down daily.   The good for the heart and soul – perfect – just what the mind needs – kind of medicine.

So tonight, I am clearing my thoughts and preparing for a new week of hopeful climbing – moving forward – albeit forever slowly.   Continuing my climb toward wellness – and – Faithfully Hanging Tough.

God has my right hand.   Marky May has my left.   Life is good!

Before I close this current Blatherings, I want to share with you a link to an article published on the Prevention magazine blog.  “What It’s Like To Live With Lyme Disease.”    It is well worth the time to read.   It focuses on the diagnosis and treatment challenges of a young girl, beginning in middle school thru her present age of 17.    It is a true depiction of what life is like with Lyme disease.

If the link is not enabled here, please feel free to cut and paste to your web browser.   I have also added another direct link to the article, located under “Lyme Disease Resources” on my home page.

Until my next Blatherings…..I wish for you many valley-less peaks.

Additional #KeepingItReal note: I am continuing to keep family and friends close to my heart, who may be facing their own health challenges, coping with loss, or dealing with personal circumstances. Thoughts and prayers are with you all. May you Faithfully Hang Tough.

Yesterday, while I was at work, my sister stole my apple ipad and tested to see if it can survive a 25 foot drop, just so she can be a youtube sensation. My apple ipad is now broken and she has 83 views. I know this is totally off topic but I had to share it with someone!
