What is a Woman? Seriously, Are We Being Punked?

Please forgive me for questioning, but is this really how you (GOD) mapped things out for us down here on planet crazy-town?

These past few years have undeniably provided ample madness to question. And without appearing disrespectful, strongly feel the need to point out some things going massively awry.

As not to overwhelm, let me limit this reflection to one focus. An area of enormous debate… and lunacy.

WHAT IS A WOMAN?

First, a brief Creation recap.

In the beginning (paraphrasing here) after the light and the darkness, the sky and the waters, sun, moon, stars and all the things… there were two: Adam and Eve. Adam was man. Eve was woman. Then lots and lots of other things happened… and eventually we (billions of boys and girls, men and women) joined the planet party.

Bringing us to present day ‘things’ happening. Curtesy of life in 2022. And Twitter.

During an evening stroll along the Twittersphere, I stumbled upon a specific tweet. Not by accident, I believe. No doubt I was supposed to read such a post, plus take the time to read through the added comments.

Mind you, when wading through Twitterland (social media in general) and something controversial catches my attention (when does this not happen!), general rule of thumb(s) is to count to ten and take several slow deep breaths. Then decide if engaging (with strangers in potential “lively” discussion) is worthy of what little precious energy I may be safeguarding.

Twitter encounters that I am about to share with you, are a few of the more recent non-counting to ten, non-deep breathing moments experienced.

Please note: I humbly accept and fully understand that my thoughts and outwardly expressed words + opinions are far from gospel. But, seriously with all of the madness that has been/is happening in our world, our own country! Offering one’s viewpoint (as an optional form of reason) is the point. Yes? (lol!)

The following is a screenshot of a tweet deemed worthy of my energy — IMHO. Fair warning, content is slightly vivid, yet absolutely accurate.

Warning: PG13 – Adult Content

As one might imagine, the above post set in motion a swarm of comments. One reply caught my eye immediately:

One might be thinking, “so, what’s the big deal with that comment?”

I suppose if one seems unaffected, un-offended, un-appalled, un-upset by the idea of a woman — an adult female person (Merriam-Webster.com) — being viewed or described as an individual’s “determination,” one might feel liberated, even justified in such thinking.

The following was my response to this rather flippant, fantasyland idea:

Perhaps the true reason behind why Meghan Maureen’s ’I am woman…’ post resonated with me to the degree in which it did, was more of an accumulative-effect response.

How is it that we as a society are even questioning much less debating the definition of a woman?

I am not a biologist, but I know what a woman is. I am a woman. I was born with female/woman parts. And, I have a brain.

Men cannot give birth. It is anatomically impossible. A biological woman who “identifies” as a man and becomes pregnant, is a biological woman who is pregnant. And hopefully, then gives birth to a healthy baby, as a woman, because “he” is biologically a woman.

Adult female human beings are not fictional/ optional characters, that one simply chooses/ determines themselves to be. One is not ‘determined’ to be a woman by the clothes, hairstyles or makeup worn, or the bathrooms, locker rooms, dressing rooms chosen to use.

Wishing I had the energy to dive into the abuse side of men “identifying” (pretending) to be women. This reality is evil, disgusting, and criminal!

Seriously, God?

I know. You are All Knowing. Your Plan. Your Timing. But my mind is a little blown-up right now! Are you messing with us? Maybe a tiny bit?

Adding this to the, we’ll probably chat about at a later time stack!

Before continuing further, I do feel the need to share an important and sincere note. Even though I add a smidge of humor + sarcasm mixed in with strong opinion, it is not my place to judge anyone struggling and/or searching to find their true selves — whatever that may be for such persons (that is waaaay above my pay grade. Like Heavenly Above).

Views I hold lay firmly within and around concerns over the erosion of ’the woman’ — biological, adult female human being — our significance, achievements, purpose in this life!

Opinions aside, there are always the facts to lean on. Basic biology (science) is what it is. Our bodies are what they are, given to us at the moment we come into this crazy ass world. Try as one might to alter, restructure or “improve,” the foundation remains unchanged.

For those of you who follow me on social media, you may be aware of a post I recently uploaded to Instagram + Facebook Stories — a post cleverly eluding to controversy surrounding Admiral Rachel Levine and NCAA swimmer Lia Thomas.

To offer some context, the following images/ screenshots serve as a short compilation that includes the original post to Twitter, by Gad Saad (which is satire, by the way — funny, not funny), and my added two cents.

Warning: PG13 – Language

Last but not least: A few short days prior to my writing this blog post, a Supreme Court Justice Nominee — who is a woman, nominated by a sitting President that openly expressed intentions to nominate a woman — indicates, under oath, that she is unable to define what a woman is, because she, “is not a biologist.”

Translation: Dodged the question, as not to offend, or seem un-woke.

Summary

Only adult female beings can become pregnant and give birth. Not men who play women in a fantasy life.

Young female athletes are paying a hefty price for woke-ness. Competing against biological males, who take estrogen hormones and “identify” as female. This is occurring in multiple sports across the country, and the world.

United States first woman admiral is not a woman, but a man playing dress-up, “identifying” as a woman.

Being a woman is not an emotional state. Being a woman is not a personal choice. Being a woman is not a determination.

None of this is humorous. None of it makes sense. Please tell me, LORD, if not a joke, when will this ridiculous dream be over?

Clearly, not everyone will agree with nor approve of my views and/or outspokenness.

Perhaps there are times when I should take a few more deep breaths before hitting the send button.

One thing is a given: being vocal, sharing truths — not only with respect to what I believe in my heart, but what is moral/ ethical, based upon fact(s)/ data/ science/ God’s will… — is part of my path. At least as long as I am living and breathing in this crazy-town universe!

Until my next Reflection…

Blessings, love and light.

Over here reflecting about life, illness + healing. Offering encouragement + empathy + support. Sharing smatterings of sarcasm + sass. Oozing with opinion. Speaking my truth. —tmm
